RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico —Spencer Ralston climbed into a tie for 11th after shooting a second consecutive 68 on Saturday in the third round of the Puerto Rico Open.
The former Gainesville High and University of Georgia standout posted a 9-under total and sits six shots behind leader Ryan Brehm (15-under) heading into Sunday’s final round.
Ralston opened his third round on fire with birdies on his first three holes. After a bogey on No. 4, he had five straight pars before sinking a birdie putt on No. 10 to get to 3-under on the day and 8-under for the tournament. He bogeyed No. 14 before closing out the round with birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 for a second straight day.
Ralston will close out his first PGA Tour event as a pro on Sunday, teeing off at 11:58 a.m. with Callum Tarren and Scott Brown.
