One man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Stephens County on Tuesday.

Sgt. Luke Mize with the Georgia State Patrol says that 76-year-old Barak Thomas Graves of Martin was traveling on GA 336 when his car went off the road near Jenkins Ferry Road. The Chevy Cobalt struck a tree with the front of his vehicle. Graves was pronounced dead on the scene.

According to his obituary, Graves was a U.S. Navy Veteran who later worked as a bus driver for the U.S. Marine Corp.

According to Sgt. Mize, neither drugs nor alcohol seem to be a factor.
