Mark Pettitt announced Tuesday evening plans to seek a second term on the Hall County School Board following his election to post two on the board in 2018.
Pettitt, a Republican, made the announcement at a campaign kickoff event at The Oaks at Lanier College and Career Academy. He represents south Hall County, including Cherokee Bluff, Flowery Branch and Johnson.
"I humbly ask the voters of Hall County for a second term because I am excited about what we have done in the last three years, and I look forward to earning the opportunity to build upon that success in the future," Pettitt said in a prepared statement.
Pettitt said in a press release that he has helped lead the school system during a series of challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The release described Pettitt as an advocate for family choice during the pandemic.
Pettitt has been involved in other areas of the county throughout his life, including serving on the Hall County Library System Board of Trustees. He has also served as the south Hall appointee to Hall County's Citizen's SPLOST Oversight Committee.
