DAHLONEGA — Lakeview Academy’s Millie Filson joined the 100-goal club on Friday night.

The senior scored four goals to lead the Class A Private ninth-ranked Lady Lions to a 5-3 win over Class 3A No. 6 Lumpkin County at The Burial Grounds.

Millie Filson, who now has 103 for her career, had the hat trick early as she helped Lakeview (3-1) jump out to a 4-1 halftime lead.

Lumpkin County (7-2) scored two back-to-back goals midway though the second half to get within a goal, but Millie Filson scored her fourth goal of the night with just over 5 minutes left to seal the win.

McKenna Filson also scored for Lakeview and had two assists. Ella Grace Leek and Pavani Reddy each had an assist.

The Lakeview defense was led by Virginia Cobb, Claire Morgan, and keeper Celia Wilson-Patino got the win for Lakeview in goal.

Millie Filson joined Gabi Lepeltier (Johnson, 1999), Carmen Wagner (Lakeview, 2017), and Maggie Wadsworth (Flowery Branch, 2022) as the only 100-goal scorers in Hall County history.

The loss snapped Lumpkin County’s six-match win streak.
