GAINESVILLE — Late-arriving, goal scoring extraordinaire Kaitlin Cook is quickly making her presence felt for Cherokee Bluff.
The sophomore, who missed the first three weeks while playing basketball for the Lady Bears, recorded a hat trick to lead Bluff to a 9-1 rout of East Forsyth on Thursday in their Region 7-3A opener on the road.
Class 3A seventh-ranked Bluff (5-3, 1-0 Region 7-3A) has won five of its last six overall and has the early lead in the region standings with the victory.
Amelia Dovie had two goals and 2 assists and Genesis Gamez had 2 goals and one assist for the Lady Bears. Anna Gessner scored once and contributed with 3 assists, Alex Jahnke had a goal and an assist, and
Alyssa Stringer had 1 assist for Bluff.
The Lady Bears next will travel to take on Class 5A ninth-ranked and undefeated Loganville (8-0) on Tuesday.
