Almost a week after "relieving" coach Chuck Graham of his duties, Gainesville wants him back.

Gainesville superintendent Jeremy Williams confirmed the news on Thursday, saying "it was the right thing to do."

"After hearing from the players, parents, and community, we offered coach Graham the opportunity to be reinstated Wednesday morning because it was the right thing to do," Williams said. "There was never a doubt about Chuck's impact on people of all ages. We are hopeful we can move the program forward by ensuring he has the structure and resources available to take our program to the next level."

Earlier this week, Williams said he and the board listened to what the community had to say in a meeting on Tuesday. He also said heard from a large group of upset parents in a meeting on Monday.

"After listening to the parents, players and community, we're in the process of reviewing the decision," Williams said on Tuesday.

Graham couldn't be reached by phone on Thursday afternoon.

After being relieved of his duties last Friday, Gainesville boys basketball coach Chuck Graham has been offered to return to the team, according to Gainesville superintendent Jeremy Williams.
