GAINESVILLE — The North Hall tennis teams swept a non-region battle with cross-town rival Johnson on Tuesday.
The North Hall boys won 4-1 while the Lady Trojans took a 5-0 sweep.
For the boys, Griffin Keener rallied from a st down to beat Angel Hernandez 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 at No. 2 singles and Nate Marshall defeated Jesus Valles
6-0, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, th No. 1 team of Clay Martin and Austin Copper beat Alonso Madera and Donald Tucobal 6-0, 6-0 while Stephen Sartain and Luis Delgado defeated Adam Guerrero and Allan Soto 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Johnson’s lone win came at No. 1 singles, where Adrian Blankenship held off Jackson Maddox, 7-5, 6-4.
In the girls match, the Lady Trojans did not drop a set. In the singles, Ella Kate Canaday defeated Olivia Carpenter 6-1, 6-1; Gabbie Jenkins beat Lu Bagwell 6-3, 6-1; and Lilly Perry beat Sophia Chica 6-1, 6-0.
In th doubles, Riley Morgan and Kayla Morgan defeated Alejandra Gamez and Jadira Martinez 6-2, 6-0 and Ali Moore and Tori Mullins beat Bertha Baeza and Mia Gamez 6-1, 6-2
Both North Hall teams improved to 3-0 on the season and next will travel to Auburn, Ala. to play in the Border Wars Invitational.
