Towns County will open its season on Wednesday, and in Region 8-A Public play as well, leaving just Lakeview Academy, which does not begin until Feb. 28, as the only Northeast Georgia baseball team not already underway for the 2022 season.
The opening week saw some outstanding matchups and a few surprises as well. Non-region action is still the norm for most area teams. However, Class 6A No. 1 Buford will open its Region 8-6A slate on Friday with a doubleheader on the road at Shiloh on Friday.
