DAHLONEGA — The Flowery Branch girls dropped a heartbreaker to North Gwinnett on Friday afternoon in the North Georgia Soccer Showcase at the University of North Georgia.
North Gwinnett got a penalty kick goal in the first half and made that stand up for a 1-0 win.
The Lady Falcons (0-2-2) had several chances to tie the match but could not get the equalizer.
Flowery Branch next will travel to Alpharetta to take another Class 7A opponent.

The Lady Bears (2-2) won their second straight match with their second consecutive shutout victory as well.
Alyssa Stringer and Haley Wilton each notched one goal and Sophie Recinella had an assist for Bluff.
After a strong start to the season, Johnson (2-2-1) is 0-2-1 in its last three matches.
Bluff hits the road against undefeated Lakeview Academy (2-0) on Tuesday.
Johnson will travel to Chestatee (2-4) on Tuesday.
