An investigation is underway following a robbery Wednesday night at a convenience store in North Hall County.

According to Derreck Booth, public information officer with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at about 9:45 p.m. to the call of a robbery by force at the Stop By Food Mart #2 in the 2100 block of Cleveland Highway.

Booth said a man entered the store, punched a clerk in the head and forced him to hand over cash from the register. The man then left the store on foot.

Surveillance footage shows the man wearing a mask, a blue hoodie and light-colored blue jeans with rips and holes. It appears the suspect was also wearing a white undershirt, blue pants or shorts under the jeans, black shoes, black gloves and a silver chain around his neck.

The store clerk suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Anyone with information on the suspect or their whereabouts should contact HCSO Investigator Nguyen at [email protected] or (770) 718-5159.

Photos of the suspect can be viewed at the top of this story.

This comes after a robbery at the East Hall Food Mart in East Hall County about a week prior.

Booth said investigators are currently focused on the Wednesday incident, but they will be looking into whether there is any connection between the two.

"That's something we would always look at as far as the proximity and timeline goes," Booth said. "But really right now they're focusing on Wednesday night's incident."
