Authorities are on the lookout for a Hall County Jail inmate who escaped while on work detail Thursday.
In a social media post, the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Cedric Demitri Rogers, 45, of Flowery Branch left his assignment at the county animal shelter on Barber Road just after 3:00 p.m. Later that day, he was reportedly seen near a Hardee's restaurant on Buford Highway in Gwinnett County.
Rogers is described as a black male standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing between 245 and 250 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, a green long sleeve undershirt and blue pants.
The sheriff's office said Rogers is wanted on charges of escape and interference with an electronic monitoring device. He was jailed for a probation violation.
Anyone with information on Rogers' location is asked to call 911 or contact the Hall County Sheriff's Office directly by calling 770-536-8812.
