The Region 8-2A All-Region was released this week.
Union County quarterback Caiden Tanner was named the Offensive Player of the Year after leading Class 2A in passing with 2,893 yards to go with 24 touchdowns.
Banks County running back Andrew Shockley was named the Athlete of Year after leading the region in rushing with 1,261 yards and 14 TDs, which was good for 8th in Class 2A overall despite playing just 10 games. The top two rushers in Class 2A led the entire state, all classifications in 2022.
The selections are made by the region coaches.
