Posted 3:00PM on Wednesday 7th December 2022 ( 2 years ago )

The City of Cornelia has named a new Main Street Manager.

According to a press release from the city, Noah Hamil will fill the role. He will be responsible for organizing all city events including Christmas in Cornelia, the Big Red Apple Festival and Downtown trick-or-treat, among others. He will also help market the city and its tourist attractions and manage social media.

“Noah is a fresh young face who the city hopes can help provide a new perspective and creative ideas," Jessie Owensby, Community Development Director said. "Noah is our target demographic so his input will be imperative to making the vision of Cornelia come to fruition. We’re excited to see what he can do.”

Hamil will oversee the Downtown Development Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, the Cornelia Hospitality and Tourism Board and the Main Street program. He will report to Owensby. Owensby will be able to focus on city planning, zoning administration and economic development for the city following the change.

“I am very blessed to be offered this opportunity to serve the City of Cornelia," Hamil said. "I look forward to collaborating with the community to make the town more special than it already is,”

All changes are effective immediately.
