COMMERCE — Flowery Branch got its first win of the season with a 57-34 victory over Franklin County on Monday in the East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Lady falcons (1-2) stormed out to a huge 25-9 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. They led 39-16 at halftime and took a 47-21 lead into the final period.
Bella Brick poured in 15 points to lead Flowery Branch. Jayla Gudz added 10 points, and Mackenzie White had 7 for the Lady Falcons.
Flowery Branch next will play the East Jackson-Oglethorpe County winner at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
CHESTATEE 61,
EFFINGHAM COUNTY 17
Riley Black scored 23 points and pulled down 12 boards to lead the Lady War Eagles to a big win in the Joe Greene Classic at Beach High School in Savannah.
Chestatee had 11 players score in the victory.
They'll play South Effingham on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Beach.

Erin Whalen scored 21 points and London Weaver added 16 to lead the No. 4 Lady Raiders past Rome in the Raider Classic at Raider Arena on Monday.
Kamryn Gardner added 12 points, all from behind the 3-point line, including two key baskets in the fourth quarter to help push the NoFo to a comfortable lead.
Rome cut the Lady Raiders lead to six points, 41-35, by the end of the third quarter. Gardner and Whalen combined for 16 of the 29 fourth quarter points to up the lead to double digits.
BANKS COUNTY 50,
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 43
Taliah Gaithersburg scored 18 points, pulled eight rebounds and had three blocks to lead Lakeview in the loss to Banks County on Monday.
Ashlyn Henderson added 10 points, and Sidney Corbin chipped in 5. Annie Niven recorded 6 rebounds.
The Lady Lions will travel to North Hall on Tuesday to play Jackson County. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
