The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Gainesville man Thursday for allegedly sharing child pornographic videos in August and September.
According to B.J. Williams, public information officer with the agency, Jeffrey H. Shinn, 47, was charged with four counts of felony sexual exploitation of a minor.
Investigators arrested Shinn at his home in Gainesville following the execution of a search warrant. The investigation found that Shinn had allegedly shared two child pornographic videos two different times, once on Aug. 29, and a second time on Sept. 19. Shinn allegedly used peer-to-peer software to download the videos.
Williams said no evidence suggested the children in the videos were from the local area, nor was there evidence to suggest Shinn personally manufactured the videos.
Investigators seized several electronic devices during the execution of the search warrant. Additional charges are possible depending on the outcome of electronic processing of the devices.
Shinn remained in the Hall County Jail as of Friday morning.
