Hartwell Scarecrow Bash wrapping up, Mayor's Monster Mash set Monday

Posted 4:01PM on Saturday 29th October 2022 ( 1 year ago )

There’s still time to view the participants in this year’s Hartwell Scarecrow Bash downtown, but barely.

Scarecrows will remain in place through Monday.

This is the 12th year Hartwell businesses have created unique scarecrow displays around the square and outside businesses and churches around town.

Organizers did not set a theme this year, so each organization was able to develop its display based on its own creativity.

Prizes this year include $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place. The People’s Choice winner will receive $100.

In addition to the Scarecrow Bash, the Hartwell Mayor’s Monster Mash, hosted by Mayor Brandon Johnson and Hartwell Main Street, will be held from 4 to 6 Monday afternoon at Railroad Street Park.

The free event will feature music by DJ Zombie Bill and Wanda the Witch, trick or treating, games and prizes, pet and human costume contests.
