The Gainesville Police Department has charged a Braselton man in connection with a psychic healer fraud scheme.

According to a social media post from the agency, Jackson William Ramirez-Reyes was charged with six counts of theft by deception after bilking a couple out of $70,000.

Ramirez-Reyes is accused of claiming to be a psychic healer. He then allegedly used deceitful means and artful practice to "make promises that he very well knew he could not uphold," according to the post.

Ramirez-Reyes also allegedly made threats to harm others in an attempt to extort money.

Authorities believe Ramirez-Reyes may have victimized others in the region. His services were allegedly advertised on Hispanic radio stations.

"If you or a family member have received alleged fraudulent services from Jackson please contact your local law enforcement agency," the post reads.
