Hall County Government has partnered with Lanier College & Career Academy to provide students a hands-on learning experience on government operations.
Lanier College & Career Academy students will visit Hall County sites throughout the 7-week program to learn about departments like the Hall County Courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, Fire Services, the 911 Call Center, the Correctional Institution and Cherokee Bluffs Park.
“LCCA is dedicated to teaching students skills that align with in-demand employment opportunities in the local economy,” participating Lanier College & Career Academy teacher Brian Kovach said in a press release. “These visits are giving students the chance to see what kind of jobs they might be interested in and the variety of opportunities available to them just within Hall County government.”
This program will further Hall County’s Strategic Plan. It includes five priority areas, like Economic & Workforce Development. You can view the County’s strategic plan here.
“Our hope is that this partnership will foster interest in potential job opportunities for these students with Hall County following graduation, as well as equip them with better understanding of government operations,” Board of Commissioners Chairman Richard Higgins said. “We’re grateful to LCCA for this opportunity to connect with the younger residents of Hall County and to provide them with insight into the services Hall County provides.”
