An arrest has been made by Lumpkin County authorities after a county-owned vehicle was stolen on Thursday.

Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said in a social media post the vehicle was stolen in the Black Mountain Road and Mount Sinai area, and that prior to the suspect's apprehension, it was believed they were trying to get the pickup truck to the metro Atlanta area.

An update posted later in the day said the vehicle had been located, and a suspect had been taken into custody.

The suspect's identity has not been released at the time of publication.

AccessWDUN reached out to Sheriff Jarrard seeking more information about the incident and resulting arrest. This article will be updated if more information becomes available.
