A man from Flowery Branch was arrested on Thursday for the alleged molestation of a child younger than the age of 16.

Flowery Branch Interim Police Chief Chris Hulsey said Jacob Douglas Litton, 41, is charged with one count of child molestation and one count of sexual battery.

The case began in early January 2022 after the victim made statements about inappropriate contact from Litton.

Flowery Branch investigators arranged forensic interviews for the child involved. Investigators then presented facts to the Magistrate Court of Hall County, and arrest warrants were issued on Jan. 19, 2022.

Litton turned himself into Flowery Branch Police on Jan. 20 without incident. He remained in the Hall County Jail with a $22,400 bond as of 4 p.m. Friday.
