The Arts Council in Gainesville has named Pamela Williams-Lime as its next executive director following the retirement of longtime executive director Gladys Wyant.

A press release from The Arts Council states Williams-Lime is a nonprofit and business leader from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The announcement by Arts Council Board Chair Carol Burrell comes after a year-long search for Wyant's successor involving dozens of applicants and interviews.

Search committee chair Ron Quinn led the recruitment effort with support from the board's executive committee.

Quinn said the search committee was impressed with Williams-Lime's skills in administration, communication and contract negotiations. She also has a strong visual arts and museum background, according to Quinn.

Williams-Lime most recently served as the executive director of Milwaukee's Pabst Mansion, a historic home that featured the art of the Pabst beer-brewing family. She worked with the City of Milwaukee and a historic preservation committee to support capital improvements for the Pabst Mansion and turn around finances with successful fundraising and other revenue-generating events.

Williams-Lime joined The Arts Council in January. Wyant will continue to support The Arts Council during a transition period leading up to her official departure on Feb. 4, 2022.
