Fans of The Vampire Diaries, this one is for you!

Rayna Cruz is a mixed breed female dog weighing in at a whopping, short and stout 55 pounds! Her exact age is unknown, but she is an adult dog. Her coat is a mixture of red, gold, orange and chestnut colors.

Rayna Cruz has called the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia home for around one year, so it is past time for her to find her forever home!

She is both a staff and volunteer favorite at HSNEGA. They call her a "snuggly little piglet" because she snorts just like a pig! She also loves belly rubs.

Rayna Cruz gets along well in the shelter's playgroup program, which brings rescues together inside a large fenced-in area for an afternoon off of the leash. Staff said she can be selective sometimes when it comes to people and other pets, so they recommend a meet and greet with her for potential adopters. Aside from possibly being the only animal in the home, Rayna Cruz would probably be best fit for a home with no children.

Rayna Cruz also knows how to make herself at home. Humane Society volunteers have taken her home for sleepovers, a program where rescues can go on an overnight stay with volunteers, and they all report back that she is the perfect houseguest. The volunteers have also said Rayna Cruz is potty trained.

Despite her snuggly personality, Rayna Cruz likes to be active. She enjoys running and swimming.

Potential adopters interested in meeting Rayna Cruz can visit her at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. Their hours and address are available on their website.

Not interested in adopting, but still love helping animals? Volunteer with the Humane Society! The first of the month of the year is a great time to get involved in the community.

Volunteer opportunities are also available on the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia website here.

On the first Thursday of every month, the Newsroom team presents a Pet of the Month available for adoption at either the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia or Hall County Animal Shelter. Tune it at 5 p.m. to hear Newsroom on WDUN FM 102.9 and AM 550.
