Hall County residents who would like to recycle their live Christmas tree can do so as part of the annual Bring One for the Chipper event.

According to a press release from Hall County Government, residents can have their trees recycled for free until Jan. 7, 2022. Undecorated live Christmas trees can be dropped off at the county's 12 compactor sites and the Hall County Recycling Center on Chestnut Street.

The Christmas trees will be turned into mulch, which will be offered to Hall County residents for free at the Hall County Landfill on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“This initiative not only serves as a way to turn discarded Christmas trees into a great resource for County residents, but it also keeps the trees from taking up valuable space at the Hall County Landfill,” said Bobby Purdum, Hall County Resource Recovery Supervisor.

Anyone seeking additional information can contact Hall County Resource Recovery at 770-535-8284.
