A Winder man was killed early this morning when he was struck by a vehicle in Athens.
According to a report from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, the crash happened just after midnight. John Joseph Walling, 32, was walking north in the southbound lane of Jefferson Road near Oak Grove Road when he was hit by a 2013 Honda Civic.
Walling died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Two occupants of the Honda Civic had minor injuries.
