COMMERCE — One play after converting on fourth down, Malachi Shockey scored on a 4-yard run with 2:27 left for the eventual game-winner in the Tigers’ 20-13 win over Mt. Paran on Friday at Tiger Stadium.

The win for the Tigers (2-2) snapped a two-game losing streak. Mt. Paran twice rallied from seven-point deficits before Commerce used up more than four minutes in the fourth quarter for the game-winning drive.

Kemani Horne scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter to give the Tigers a 13-6 lead. But Mt. Paran answered midway through the fourth quarter.

Commerce led 7-6 at the half.

The Tigers will open Region 8-A play next week on the road against Greene County.
