DAHLONEGA — It was a good night in the Gold City for Lumpkin County.
The Indians racked up 259 total yards of offense en route to a 34-14 romping of St. Francis at the Burial Grounds on Friday.
The win snapped the Indians' 19-game losing streaking dating back to Sept. 27, 2019. It was also the least points given up in a game since beating Gilmer, 23-13, on Oct. 5, 2018, and the most points scored, also in the 2018 season, a 42-19 win over Cherokee Bluff.
Cooper Scott was on target and efficient, connected 13 of 18 times for 210 yards and three touchdowns.
Scott hit Harper Davenport, Cal Faulkner and Andrew Adams, and rushed for one himself, to go up 27-0 at halftime.
Tavion Lawerence added a 17-yard rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter to cap the Indians' scoring.
St. Francis's Jaiden Jenkin tossed two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter -- one to Davin Rouse, the other to Roman Stamps.
