Authorities are investigating an alleged homicide after a woman was found dead with chest injuries at the Walden at Oakwood apartment complex Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Oakwood Police Department, the victim was Jordan Gooch, 27.
Oakwood Police first responded to the scene at 5324 Walden Way at 12:49 p.m for a call of an apparent cardiac arrest. Gooch’s sister first discovered Gooch unconscious and not breathing, and then contacted Hall County 911.
When units arrived at the scene, they found Gooch with multiple traumatic injuries to her chest and significant blood loss. The release states she died at the scene.
Investigators have identified a person of interest in the homicide. However, police are not releasing information about the individual until they have conducted an interview.
Oakwood Police Department investigators worked in conjunction with the Hall County District Attorney’s Office and obtained and executed search warrants at the scene. The crime scene was processed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the case investigator with the Oakwood Police Department.
