A Hall County man has been arrested and charged with murder in Washington State.

Renaldo Louis Dozier, age 49, was first reported missing earlier this year. In May, his brother reported him missing. Authorities were able to locate Dozier in Washington two months later and the case was closed.

Now, two months later, Dozier has been charged with the murder of a homeless woman in Tacoma. They also say he assaulted another woman in the same city. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Dozier has been arrested and his charges include first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Dozier was arrested last Thursday after he attacked a woman at a gym in Tacoma. He went in asking about a gym membership, but pulled a knife on the receptionist, threw her to the ground and went through her backpack and wallet. Police were called to the scene and were able to assist the stabbed woman. While police were there, Dozier returned. He hid in some bushes but was able to be found. Authorities arrested him without incident and found a knife and scalpel on him. He was taken into custody.

Later in the day police discovered the body of a woman who was homeless and known to camp regularly in the area. Dozier admitted to killing her, saying she had asked him for a cigarette, but he didn’t have one. He went to get her one but when he returned, he said she attacked him and so he stabbed her.

Dozier told police he was suffering from schizophrenia and was hearing voices. He admitted that the voices were urging him to hurt others.

Dozier was booked into the Pierce County Jail, where he remains without bond, online records show. His court date is scheduled for Sept. 23.
