Ruel, Jr. and Riggins, Jr. take USCS Sprint Car victories

Mark Ruel, Jr. and Eric Riggins, Jr. both scored USCS Sprint Car Series wins over the weekend.

Ruel, Jr. took the victory on Friday night at South Carolina’s Traveler’s Rest Speedway, while Riggins, Jr. was the winner on Saturday night at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina.

On Friday night, Mark Ruel, Jr. scored his third series win at Traveler’s Rest Speedway. The Jacksonville, Florida native edged out Justin Barger for the victory.

Eric Riggins, Jr. came home in third, with Terry Gray in fourth and Mark Smith in fifth.

Riggins, Jr., Ruel, Jr. and Barger won their respective heat races. Ruel, Jr. was the winner in the speed dash.

On Saturday night, Eric Riggins, Jr. got the win at Cherokee Speedway after race-ling leader Mark Smith suffered an engine failure near the finish line.

Riggins got to the finish line two car lengths ahead of Smith, who was able to coast across in second.

Brian Carber, Lance Moss, and Danny Smith rounded out the top 10.

Mark Smith, Justin Barger and Danny Smith won their respective heat races, while Mark Smith was also victorious in the speed dash.
