A vehicle stolen out of Banks County was abandoned and intentionally set on fire in Alto, according to the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's office.

According to a press release, the fire occurred on Grant Mill Road around 4 a.m. yesterday. The vehicle itself was owned by Valor Concrete Construction, LLC and stolen from their parking lot on North County Line Road.

The Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner's office is assisting the Banks County Sheriff's Office with the investigation. A $10,000 award is available from the Georgia Arson Control for tips leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
