On what has become known as Patriots Day, communities across North Georgia spent this year with a more intense focus on the anniversary of 9/11. That's because 20 years has passed since 2,997 people died in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania when terrorists commandeered passenger planes in an attack on America. Follow the commemorations in this photo gallery compiled by the AccessWDUN staff.
