MARIETTA — Lakeview Academy scored 14 fourth quarter points to rally for a 31-19 road win over Walker on Friday.
Harrison Cooper scored on a 10-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter to give the Lions (1-2) the lead. After stopping the Wolverines (0-4) on downs at their own 16 with 1:05 left in the game, Cooper scored again with just 54 seconds remaining on a 6-yard run to put it out of reach.
Lakeview’s Sam Perrott sealed the win with an interception with 9 seconds left.
The Lions came into the game having scored just 18 points on the season. On Friday, the Lions scored on their opening possession, a 2-yard touchdown run by Luke Cooper to cap a 9-play, 80-yard drive. They pushed it to 17-3 on a 17-yard field goal from Bryan Ramsey and a 75-yard touchdown pass from Harrison Cooper to Sam Perrott with four minutes left in the half.
The Wolverines scored 10 points in the final 92 seconds of the first half to pull within 17-13. They got a 9-yard TD pass, recovered a short kick, and then booted a 40-yard field goal at the buzzer.
Walker eventually took a 19-14 lead in the third quarter on a 1-yard TD pass.
Both teams had nearly identical offensive numbers. They both ran for 152 yards and Lakeview had 195 yards passing to Walkers 171.
Harrison Cooper finished 9-for-18 for 195 yards and one touchdown. Perrott was the primary target with 5 catches for 174 yards.
Landon Hanes had 98 yards rushing on 15 carries for Lakeview.
