A fatal pedestrian accident in Lawrenceville leaves investigators searching for the hit-and-run driver. On Sunday evening, at approximately 8:30 p.m. a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle when he was trying to cross the intersection at Lawrenceville Highway and Fernview Drive. The man, identified as 32-year-old Gabriel Perez Ortiz of Norcross, died as a result of his injuries.
According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, they believe a white work van is at fault, but are working to identify the driver. They have no further description of the suspect or the vehicle.
