A tractor-trailer truck was hit by a train in Buford earlier today. It is unclear why the truck was sitting across the tracks at Shadburn Rd and Little Mill Rd just after 2 p.m. The driver had already exited the cab before the impact.
Photos from the accident show the truck completely split open with debris covering a wide area.
A statement from the Gwinnett County Police Department says there were no injuries.
Crews were still working on getting the debris cleared many hours after the accident. The road was closed as a result of the cleanup.
More information is expected to be released as the investigation into the incident continues.
