The City of Cumming will illuminate the city water tower red, white and blue for the next 10 days.
Mayor Troy Brumbalow made the request for two purposes - first, to honor the 13 U.S. service members who died in suicide attacks last week during the evacuation of Afghanistan, and then second, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks on the United States.
The lights will shine on the Cumming Home tower from Thursday, Sept. 2 through Sunday, Sept. 12.
The tower is located on Georgia 400 just off Exit 14.
