Newsroom's Pet of the Month: Meet Carla!

Carla is not like most dogs.

Where most dogs her age (roughly 3 years old) love to run, one of Carla's favorite hobbies is sunbathing.

Carla is a mixed breed dog who currently resides at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia. She is one of the shelter's longest residents; her intake date was New Year's Eve 2020.

She is also a mother. She and her puppies were brought into the shelter together, but all of the puppies have since been adopted.

According to information from HSNEGA staff, Carla is observant and shy. Three words to describe her are timid, quiet and independent.

Carla gets along well with other dogs, but needs a home that can devote time and attention to her. She may come across as shy at first, but shelter staff said she can warm up to anyone who spends quality time with her.

Potential adopters can meet Carla at the Humane Society during the hours of 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. More information about the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia is on its website.
