Injured Forsyth County firefighter released to go home

Posted 8:13PM on Wednesday 18th August 2021 ( 2 years ago )

An injured Forsyth County firefighter received a big welcome home after spending 14 days at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

David Cody was released from Grady Hospital Wednesday and was met with fire trucks, co-workers and friends lining the street to his home.

Earlier this month, Cody was injured in a residential fire that was later ruled arson. He has undergone surgery to repair damage to his hands, as well as three skin graft procedures on his hands and shoulders.

A post from the Forsyth County Fire Department says he still has a long road to recovery, but will now be able to heal at home.
