As police and fire personnel flock to Gainesville, the poultry capital of the world, it seems fitting that a chicken wing eating contest was on Monday night's agenda for the Georgia Police and Fire Games.

The wing eating contest was two rounds of varying contestants, from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and the Milledgeville Fire Department Station 1, eating a plate of large-sized, medium-sauced wings. The top eaters moved on to the final round. In a twist, a tie breaker was needed between police and fire contestants following the third round which resulted in another tie. Judges determined Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy First Class Steven Challinger ate the most meat off the bone, and he was declared the winner. Challinger is a K9 officer with Forsyth County, with his partner, Flash.

After a break, certified police and fire personnel could once again compete in a wing eating contest, but this time to see who could beat the heat in a spicy wing eating contest. The winner had to eat the most wings in varying heats in 10 minutes.
