Nasse, Okrzesik take SSS wins at 5 Flags, Montgomery

Stephen Nasse crossed the finish line in second under the checkered flag in Friday night’s Southern Super Series event at 5 Flags Speedway, but at the end of the night, he was standing in victory lane at the Pensacola, Florida raceway.

Nasse chased Sammy Smith to the end of 100 lap feature, and it appeared that he would have to go home with a runner-up finish.

But after Smith’s car failed post race inspection, Nasse was elevated to the win, his second of the season.

Hunter Robbins was moved to second, with Jeremy Doss in third, Matt Craig in fourth and Marietta, Georgia’s Kyle Plott in fifth.

One night later, Nasse again crossed the finish line in second, but this time the car he followed held onto the victory, as Connor Okrzesik took the win at Alabama’s Montgomery Motor Speedway.

Robbins finished in third, with Doss in fourth and Plott in fifth.
