College BSB: Carpenter earns All-America selection from ABCA/Rawlings

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Sam Carpenter has added another prestigious award to his decorated career at Piedmont College in Demorest.

The senior left-hander from Gainesville was named to the All-America Third Team by the ABCA/Rawlings on Thursday. His selection marks the first ABCA/Rawlings All-America selection for the program since Brady Ballstadt earned the honor in 2018.

On Wednesday, Carpenter made D3baseball.com All-America Fourth Team.

Carpenter adds the honor to a long list throughout his career. He is currently third in NCAA Division III with 123 strikeouts and led the team with a 2.42 ERA and nine wins in 2021.

He was named USA South Pitcher of the Week twice and earned All-USA South First Team and West Division First Team honors after the season.

Earlier this week, he was named ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team and D3baseball.com All-Region First Team

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First Team selections, which were announced on Tuesday, were nominated for All-America honors. In all divisions, the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Teams will be announced on Wednesday, June 23. The ABCA National Pitchers of the Year for all divisions will be announced on Monday, June 28, followed by the ABCA National Position Players of the Year on Wednesday, June 30.
