CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Stephen Reid led the way with two home runs, but it wouldn’t be enough as Georgia Tech baseball fell 11-5 in Game 1 of the ACC Tournament against Clemson on Wednesday night at Truist Field.

In a game that had no bearing on whether the Yellow Jackets (28-22) advanced to the semifinals or not, Tech still got three multi-hit efforts, including Reid’s two homer day, as well as a home run from Andrew Jenkins and two hits for Drew Compton.

On the mound, the Jackets staffed the day beginning with starter LHP Dalton Smith (2-2), who pitched three scoreless innings before allowing four in the fourth on a career-high 64-pitch night. Tech also used LHP Josiah Siegel, RHP John Medich and RHP Brody Westbrooks.
The Tigers (25-27) were paced by James Parker, who went 3-for-4 with a double and homer for four RBI. RHP Davis Sharpe (4-1) received the win, allowing two earned runs on six hits in 7.0 innings of work.

Georgia Tech will now take on Louisville in a winner-take-all game on Thursday, May 27. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will broadcast live on the ACC’s Regional Sports Networks.
