The owners of Yonah Mountain Vineyards held a ceremonial ribbon cutting this week for The Pavilion, a 1,670 square-foot outdoor addition that will seat 200 guests.

Vineyard owners Bob Miller and Jane Miller, who established the business in 2006 on 200 acres of land at the foot of Yonah Mountain in White County, welcomed guests to the ceremony on Wednesday, May 12. General Manager Eric Miller acted as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

The Pavilion will be used year round for daily glass and bottle service. The facility was designed not only as a beautiful expansion of the business, but also with guest safety in mind. The Millers have made sure Yonah Mountain Vineyards has remained open throughout most of the COVID-19 pandemic with outdoor seating only and stringent safety protocols developed in conjunction with a physician at Emory University Hospital.

The addition features a cedar ceiling, stone skirts, sconce lanterns, pebble-finished concrete flooring and a 30-foot tall double-sided stone fireplace with see-through firebox. It's also the first commercial property in the Southeast to be built with Tesla solar shingles, which will generate enough energy to power The Pavilion as well as The Tasting Room.

Yonah Mountain Vineyards produces world-class wines, with 20 planted acres of grapes that produce 100% Vitis vinifera, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, among others.  Read more about the business at this link
