The city manager for Flowery Branch resigned effective today. City Manager Bill Andrew has served in that role for the last 15 years.
According to a press release from the Flowery Branch City Council, City Clerk Vickie Short will be appointed as interim city manager for the time being.
In the press release, Flowery Branch Mayor Mike Miller says that they are appreciative of Andrew's service, “We are grateful for the service and professionalism which Mr. Andrew brought to the role and for his dedicated service to the residents and businesses of Flowery Branch.” Miller added, “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
There has been no word as to what prompted the resignation.
The search will be on for a permanent city manager.
