Boys playoff soccer: SE Whitfield scores 3 goals in 2nd half to roll past Jefferson

DALTON, Ga. — Top-ranked Southeast Whitfield scored three unanswered goals to race past No. 9 Jefferson, 4-1, in the semifinals of the Class 4A state playoffs on Tuesday.

Matti Devillena scored the Dragons' lone goal four minutes into the second half to tie the game, 1-1, but couldn't score again falling out of the Class 4A playoffs.

Lupe Beltran, Julian Hernandez and Diego Castillo scored in the second half to lead the Raiders into the state title game later this week against East Hall. 

 

Southeast Whitfield scored three unanswered goals to knock off Jefferson in the semifinals of the Class 4A playoffs on Tuesday.
