Billy Torrence leads Top Fuel qualifying at Commerce

Billy Torrence was fastest in Saturday’s Top Fuel qualifying for the final Southern Nationals for the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

Torrence topped the speed charts with a run of 3.815 seconds at 323.43 mph to claim the top spot. His son, Steve Torrence kept the top two all in the family after putting down a time of 3.817 seconds at 323.66 mph.

In Funny Car qualifying, it was J.R. Todd was fastest with a run at 3.982 seconds, 325.69 mph. Bob Tasca III was second quick with a pass at 3.999 seconds, 320.81 mph, followed by Matt Hagan with a 4.001, 314.02 mph run.

Greg Anderson was quickest in Pro Stock with a pass at 6.548 seconds, 210.41 mph, followed by Deric Kramer with a 6.554 second run at 210.21 mph and Aaron Stanfield with a 6.555 second, 209.56 mph run.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Scotty Pollacheck made a pass at 6.779 seconds, 199.20 mph to top the speed charts. Joey Gladstone was second quick with a 6.780 second, 198.20 mph run. Andrew Hines was third quick with a pass at 6.809 seconds, 200.11 mph.

Finals at the Atlanta Dragway are scheduled to begin at 11 am Sunday morning.
