KENNESAW — Millie Filson scored three goals and set a new school record in leading Lakeview Academy to a 6-2 win over Mount Paran on Wednesday in the first round of the Class A Private state playoffs.
Filson, McKenna Filson, and Annie Nivens each scored in the first half to give the Lady Lions a 3-0 halftime lead. Lakeview kept up the pressure in the second half as Millie Filson scored two more times and Nivens capped the offensive explosion with her second goal of the game.
Celia Wilson-Patino made 8 saves in goal for Lakeview.
Millie Filson's three goals give her 43 goals on the season, which is a new Lakeview single-season school record.
