Six people have been displaced by a fire at a mobile home in Demorest.

Habersham County Emergency Services Director Chad Black said the fire on Fred Pitts Road in the Fairview Community was reported at 10:40 p.m. Monday, April 12.

Black said the caller to 911 was one of the occupants of the residence, and the caller confirmed that everyone was able to get out of the burning residence without injury.

Black said fire crews remained on the scene until 12:30 a.m. overhauling the home and removing items the family needed. The American Red Cross was called to assist those who were displaced.
