The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of beating a woman and then barricading himself inside of a Maysville residence.
According to a social media post from the Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a domestic dispute call Sunday around 2 p.m. at a residence on Beacon Drive. Deputies learned that the unidentified female victim had injuries to her face and arms and was prevented from leaving the residence.
The suspect in the case, Jason Lee Sexton, 47, barricaded himself inside of a garage area, allegedly with guns and knives. Authorities attempted to communicate with Sexton, who refused to respond.
After a couple of hours attempting to contact Sexton, authorities entered the home. Sexton came downstairs with his hands up and was arrested without further incident.
Sexton was transported to the Jackson County Jail and faces charges of false imprisonment, kidnapping, battery FVA, and a hold out of Habersham County for a Probation Violation.
