A rough second round for northeast Georgia area girls soccer teams continued on Wednesday night.

Only Buford in a 4-0 win over Lassiter in the Class 6A tournament managed to advance. The Lady Wolves (19-0-1) will await the winner of the Glynn Academy-North Atlanta showdown on Tuesday in the quarterfinals.

In Class 4A, a pair of top five matchups involving area teams highlighted the action around the state. No. 4 Flowery Branch fell to No. 2 Marist, 5-1, on the road and No. 5 Jefferson dropped a tough 2-0 decision to No. 3 Northwest Whitfield, also on the road.

Region 8-2A was swept out of the playoffs as Banks County, Rabun County, and Union County all took lopsided losses.
