NORCROSS — Lakeview Academy is making the most of its first-ever region track meet.
After the field events, the Lions had five qualify for the upcoming Class A Private Sectionals next month at the Area 4-A Private track meet on Tuesday at Wesleyan.
Sidney Corbin, with a new school-record leap of 28-feet, 7-inches took fifth in the girls triple jump. In the boys triple jump, Griffin Brock also set a new school record with a jump of 37-9 to take fourth.
In the boys discus, both Christian Haynes and Hayden White qualified with a 1-2 finish. Haynes became Lakeview’s first-ever Area champion with a throw of 107-6, also a school record, and White took second with a 105-7 throw.
And the boys 4x800 relay team (Henry Stewart, Grey Myers, Sam Perrott, and Bodie Blackwell) came in fifth with 10:24.43 time to set a new school record and qualify.
The Area 4-A Private meet will resume on Wednesday at Wesleyan with the track finals.
